SUMMARY:2022 World Water Day
DESCRIPTION:[United Nations] World Water Day\, on 22 March every year\, is about focusing attention on the importance of water. This year’s theme  ‘groundwater’\, draws attention to the hidden water resource that has always been critically important but not fully recognized in sustainable development policymaking. \nUnder the title ‘Groundwater – Making the invisible visible’\, this year’s campaign will explain groundwater’s vital role in water and sanitation systems\, agriculture\, industry\, ecosystems and climate change adaptation. \nThe overarching message of the campaign is that exploring\, protecting and sustainably using groundwater will be central to surviving and adapting to climate change and meeting the needs of a growing population. \nLearn more about the World Water Day 2022 campaign here.

SUMMARY:2022 Groundwater Awareness Week
DESCRIPTION:The National Ground Water Association (NGWA) and The Groundwater Foundation (GF) have announced that Groundwater Awareness Week (GWAW) will take place March 6-12. \nAn annual observance established in 1999 to highlight the responsible development\, management\, and use of groundwater\, the event is also a platform to encourage yearly water well testing and well maintenance\, and the promotion of policies impacting groundwater quality and supply. Groundwater advocates across the country also use GWAW to highlight local water issues in their communities. \nThis year\, NGWA and its partners will be focusing their advocacy on promoting professional opportunities in the groundwater industry. According to the American Geosciences Institute\, nationally there are more than 135\,000 open positions in the industry now\, which is far too high to keep up with consumer demand. \nFor more information\, please click here.
